With both having a love for music, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd quickly took a liking to each other. For Morris, her career in country music showered her with a Grammy Award and five Academy of Country Music Awards. While her career prospered, so did her relationship as Hurd proposed to her in 2017. Just a year later, the couple made it official in Nashville. Their love seemed to only expand as they welcomed their son into the world in March 2020. Although once in love, it appears the couple is now officially divorced, and with fans shocked, apparently, so is Hurd.
While some celebrities can’t wait to air out their family matters online, Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd remained extremely silent on the matter. Back on October 11, Morris attended the premiere of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Although walking the red carpet while styling a black mini dress, she attended the event without Hurd.
Maren Morris Goes Ringless
Even before the event, Maren Morris performed in Chicago on October 5 and some fans noticed that her left hand was bare. Sharing a post about the concert, the singer didn’t address the missing ring. She only praised fans, writing, “You screamed and cried with me on the deep cuts and even got me back on stage for a few more I hadn’t planned to play. I couldn’t leave you. Thank you for always reminding me why I do this.”
To make the split even stranger is the fact that Ryan Hurd continuously defended Maren Morris after she criticized Jason and Brittany Aldean for making comments toward transgender youth. At the time, Hurd tweeted at the Aldean family, writing, “Scoring quick points by picking on trans kids isn’t something that is brave at all. And I’m proud of Maren for sticking up for them. … Shut up and sing only applies to those who you disagree with.”
As for the backlash Maren Morris received, Ryan Hurd criticized what he described as internet trolls. “She deserves a little sunshine for the burden she has carried for every artist and fan that feels the same way. … I can’t wait to make music that follows the same path, whatever that is.”
Ryan Hurd Surprised Like Most
Now, with the couple officially divorced, an insider close to the situation claimed that Ryan Hurd was shocked about the divorce, suggesting it seemed “to have come out of the blue.” Despite speculation, the insider revealed the couple was complete “opposites.”
While the singer seems shocked like most, on October 20, Maren Morris shared a quote on her Instagram story, reading, “It will be fine. It will just be, and when it is, you will face what’s necessary.”
