Remarkably, Tim McGraw rarely needs to seek forgiveness from his soulmate literally “Soul2Soul” at his side through 27 years of triumphs, trials, joys, and tears. Recently, though, that’s just what megastar McGraw paused in the middle of an interview to do, as Huffpost, People, and Yahoo per MSN verify.

Instantaneously, Tim McGraw begs “I’m probably going to get in trouble for saying this. God, please forgive me, baby,” pleads the starkly honest husband of Hey Whiskey, from his soon-to-be-released Standing Room Only album, out August 25.

So, what triggered the earnest plea? It was the revelation of the song that started it all between the forever partners– not by a country artist, but by one of the most revered rock guitarists of all time– Carlos Santana. Read on to learn more.

‘Samba Para Ti’ sparks something eternal for Tim and Faith

Clearly, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill share a kindred connection with powerful love songs. Besides timeless proclamations of passion in Let’s Make Love and Shotgun Rider, Tim McGraw’s written tributes of love to his bride and daughters outshine any sonnet, as Country Music Alley conveys. Even so, Tim credits his uncle Hank with the advice to use caution regarding the Carlos Santana classic.

Lovingly calling his relative an “old hippie” from Napa Valley, Tim McGraw recalls how uncle Hank warned against using this particular sonic romantic artillery unless things were truly serious.

“I’m gonna tell you something,” Uncle Hank counseled. “Never make love to a woman with this song on unless you intend to marry her.” Tim McGraw assures “so I didn’t, until I did. And then I did.” 27 years down the road of life and love together, the song still does the trick for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

On a humorous note, Samba Para Ti has no lyrics to sing for the pair famous for songs of undying love. The instrumental track is from the band, Santana’s, second album, Abraxus, released in 1970. The band and its lead guitarist and songwriter are best known for the songs Oye Como Va and Black Magic Woman. Santana offered an acclaimed set at the original Woodstock festival in 1969, and the band celebrated a magnificent resurgence in 1999, with the release of Supernatural, the collaborative album featuring the mammoth hit, Smooth, with Rob Thomas. Undoubtedly, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have that one in their collection, also.

The empty-nesters enjoy life

Not surprisingly, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill measure their years together in different math than most people use.

“We always like to say we’ve been married 92 years in showbiz language,” Tim McGraw playfully reflects. “It’s like dog years,” the devoted husband defends. Unwaveringly, Faith Hill remains his rock as the devoted parents transition to life with all grown-up daughters. Gracie, 26, Maggie, 24, and Audrey, 21, are individual and accomplished young women in their own right, bringing much pride to Mom and dad.

Admittedly, dad Tim McGraw concedes that it was tough “like, the first six months,” adding that the absence was likely “harder on mom” without her brood.  He describes the situation being “pretty tough because it was empty and the energy of the house was sort of gone.”

Soon, though, another realization set in for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.  The newlyweds already expecting a family while they performed in the video for It’s Your Love celebrated that this could be “kind of honeymoon time again,” and Tim stresses “we’ve quite enjoyed it.”

Gracie gives gangbuster vocals with a personality punch

Speaking of doing things again, the eldest daughter, Gracie McGraw, shows the world she’s got the chops to take on any song or any artist. Fresh off her Broadway Sings Celine Dion performance this week, Gracie shared a clip of her tearing into Tell Him, alongside Stephanie Torns, of all vocalists, on her social media, you as Yahoo confirms.

Adding a touch of swagger and sultry to the song that speaks “tell him he’s the one who has to go” and carries the message of “love yourself” first, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s baby girl proves herself a standout once more. She not only delivers the high notes, but hits sonic home runs straight to the finish.

“U sound like your mama,” one follower gushes. “Your talent is beyond measure,” another raves.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill know the hard work of parenting and musical success. Without question, both realms require extreme dedication but yield rich and generational rewards.
