During this weekend’s annual Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival, Zach Bryan headlined the event with someone surprising.

Short History On Zach Bryan

Zachary Lane Bryan is a young singer and songwriter from Oklahoma. However, the 27-year-old has most recently been living in Philadelphia. The artist is well-known for his country song “Something in the Orange,” released in 2022. However, Bryan has been in the music scene since October 2016, with his first published song, “Sunday Flannel.” Since then, Zach has climbed in success and fame and is now actively touring. He didn’t do it alone though, he attributes a lot of his inspiration to bands he has admired throughout the years.

Zach Bryan Shares His Love For The Lumineers

The Lumineers, known for their hit songs “Ho Hey” and “Ophelia,” is a band that Zach Bryan has looked up to for years. In a tweet, he shares a direct message he sent to the band in 2016. Here is what it said:

“Dear Lumineers,

You guys are my all time favorite band. Your music has touched me down to my very core. From your EP to Cleopatra I cannot express how much your guys influence has changed my life and music style. If you want to check out my music it’s on my Instagram page, if not then that’s okay. I just want to thank you all so dearly.”

This heartfelt message from Bryan rings true today. Little did he know when he sent that message he would one day perform alongside his idols. When he introduced them on stage with him yesterday, he still referred to them as his favorite band.

Zach Bryan’s Set At Pilgrimage

During the yearly Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival that takes place in Franklin, Tennesee, Zach took the stage with a band he admires, The Lumineers. On Sunday, September 24th, 2023, the group proudly sang “Spotless” together. This is a song from Zach’s self-titled album “Zach Bryan” on August 25th, 2023. The song features The Lumineers, but it was a unique experience seeing them perform it together live.

The War and Treaty duo, who are in the folk genre, also had their chance in the spotlight as they rocked “Hey Driver” alongside Zach Bryan.

A cherry was put on top of the whole event when Zach welcomed the alternative/indie singer, Noah Kahan to the stage. Bryan and Noah performed their recently released song “Sarah’s Place.” Kahan was not in the headlines, so it was a pleasant surprise when he made his way into the spotlight.

Though Zach Bryan is primarily known for singing country music, it is admirable that he has a range of talents and abilities outside of his usual. Not many country artists could pull off a song alongside an alternative or rock artist. How do you feel about these performances?
