Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton have been friends for decades, so why can’t Reba contact Dolly on the phone? Have they hit a bump in their friendship? Keep reading for all the details.

Reba McEntire & Dolly Parton’s Long-Awaited Collab

Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire are two of the biggest stars in country music. They’ve been friends for over 40 years. Closer reports that the icons first met back in 1977 when the up-and-coming McEntire made her Grand Ole Opry debut.

Sources told the outlet that Parton, 77, is a “big sister” to McEntire, 68. Despite their long and distinguished careers, the two never sang together. During a 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Reba McEntire expressed interest in collaborating with her long-time friend.

The dream became a reality on Reba McEntire’s Revived Remixed Revisited album. The 2021 release featured new takes on some of the singer’s biggest hits, including Fancy, Take It Back, and Does He Love You.

The original 1993 version of the Does He Love You duet featured Linda Davis. Dolly Parton took over Davis’ verses on the 2021 version.

Not That Fancy

“Fancy” is arguably Reba McEntire’s most recognizable song. So, it’s no surprise the singer constantly reinvents the popular hit. In the latest version, McEntire strips it all away to show she’s really Not That Fancy.

That’s the title of her recently released 33rd studio album. It features acoustic versions of 13 of her biggest hits, plus one new song, “Seven Minutes In Heaven.”

Not That Fancy tracklist:

1. The Fear of Being Alone
2. Consider Me Gone
3. Somebody Should Leave
4. How Blue
5. If You See Him, If You See Her with Brooks & Dunn
6. Till You Love Me
7. Seven Minutes In Heaven
8. The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
9. Does He Love You with Dolly Parton
10. One Promise Too Late
11. The Last One To Know
12. New Fool At An Old Game
13. I’m A Survivor
14. Fancy

She also released a new lifestyle book this month.

McEntire revealed that Doordash is the most-used app on her phone. When asked the most famous name in her contacts, she name-dropped fellow Voice judges Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Niall Horan.

The Bravo talk show host wanted to know about Reba McEntire’s last text exchange with Dolly Parton. The “Consider Me Gone” singer revealed that the famous blonde doesn’t text.

She doesn’t email either.

In her 1994 hit, “Why Haven’t I Heard From You,” Reba McEntire listed possible excuses not to get a phone call from someone.

“There’s no problem gettin’ to me/Baby you can dial direct/I got call forwarding, call waiting/You can even call collect.”

There is an unexpected problem trying to reach Dolly Parton. Is it a flood, a landslide of mud, or a fire that burns up the wires?

No, it’s very simple: Reba McEntire doesn’t have Dolly Parton’s phone number. She shared a story with Andy Cohen about once asking Kenny Rogers if he had Parton’s number, and he said no.

According to Reba McEntire, the only way to reach Dolly Parton is by fax!
