Dolly Parton Teases Rockstar Album With New Single
Dolly Parton is just weeks away from releasing her highly-anticipated rock album. While she wrote one original song for the album, she collaborated with some of the biggest names in music to cover the biggest hits in rock ‘n roll.
The songs she covered range from 4 Non Blondes’ 90s hit “What’s Up?” to her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus’ breakup anthem “Wrecking Ball.”
Fans only have a few more weeks before the full album’s release. Rockstar drops on November 17, 2023.
Reba McEntire Implies Dolly Parton Lives Off The Grid?
Reba McEntire made headlines earlier this month by saying the only way to get ahold of Dolly Parton is by fax machine. During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, McEntire – who is longtime friends with Parton – revealed that she doesn’t even have the icon’s phone number!
That sent shockwaves through talk show host Andy Cohen and the audience.
However, according to PEOPLE magazine, this isn’t new information. Miley Cyrus spoke about her godmother’s love of fax machines in 2021 during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show. “She gets upset when you don’t respond,” according to the Hannah Montana actress.
Miley Cyrus broached the topic again on Late Night With Seth Myers, saying that she herself doesn’t own a fax machine, but someone on Parton’s team scans the faxes and texts it to her. “It’s always signed,” Cyrus said of missives from the “9 to 5” singer.
Dolly Parton Opens Up About Why No One Has Her Number
With so much attention on her communication preferences, Dolly Parton candidly addressed the issue last week during an appearance on The View.
She told co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin that she “never did get involved” in texting or regular phone calls. “It’ll take up too much of my time if I tried to get in touch with everybody who is trying to get in touch with me,” Parton reasoned.
The legendary singer went on to say that if you call her, she’ll call you back, but that seemingly doesn’t apply to Reba McEntire, who doesn’t have the number in the first place.
Is it strange that Parton prefers to communicate through fax? Or do you envy her prioritizing her time over the latest technology? Share your thoughts in the comments.
