Maren Morris speaks out about the Nashville shooting

On Monday, April 3, Maren Morris posted a carousel of photos on her Instagram feed. The first one featured the country singer in a white linen blouse tied around her waist. Maren had a somber look on her face. She stood inside her home as she shot the selfie.

The next shot is a black-and-white photo of her son Hayes playing outside in her backyard. His back is turned to the camera as he enjoys the great outdoors. He’s surrounded by trees, sunlight, and rocks. Maren also shared a black-and-white shot of people at an anti-gun protest in D.C. They held up signs in front of the Tennessee State Capitol.

Maren Morris shared a mirror selfie of herself in the white linen blouse and khaki trousers, which she paired with a black skinny belt. She held her black-and-white checkered phone as she looked at the camera. Maren casually stuck her hand in her pocket. You could see the white paneled wall behind her and a glimpse at her kitchen.

The last and final shot was a close-up of her son playing outside. Maren Morris captioned the shots: “carry me through.” It was a powerful message that spoke for itself. She used her son to deliver a message about the tragic shooting that took six lives at a private school earlier this month. Maren wants to hold onto these days with her son as she hopes for a day when she doesn’t have to worry about taking him to school.
