Oliver Anthony is back with another YouTube video in his car. This time, he is here to talk about the GOP debate. More and more pressure is being put on Oliver and his music. Is stardom finally sinking in for this new artist?

Anthony stated that a lot has happened since his last post, which was only three days ago. However, the last time he properly spoke to the public was his YouTube video “Moving Forward.” That was uploaded 11 days ago.

“Rich Men North Of Richmond” Used In GOP Debate

“They have done everything they can in the past two weeks to make me look like a fool, to spin my words, to try to stick me in a political bucket.” He states this in his video titled “It’s a Pleasure to Meet You – Part 2.”

Oliver Anthony Responds To GOP

The 10-minute video was filmed on August 25th, 2023, to talk about current affairs.

“My friends and family have been asking how I am doing. Everyone is wondering if I have lost my sanity yet,” Oliver states at the start of the video.

“The one thing that has bothered me is seeing people wrap politics up into this… It is aggravating to see people on conservative news try to identify with me like I’m one of them… to see certain musicians and politicians act like we are buddies and act like we are fighting the same struggle and presenting the same message.”

“It was funny seeing my song at the presidential debate because I wrote that song about those people so for them to sit there and listen to that, that cracks me up… That has nothing to do with Joe Biden, it’s a lot bigger than Joe Biden.”

“It’s hard to get a message out about your political ideology or your belief about the world in three minutes and some change. But I do hate to see that song being weaponized, I see the right trying to characterize me as one of their own, and I see the left trying to discredit me… That sh*t has got to stop.”

Oliver Anthony Continues To Remain Encouraging And Kind

Oliver maintains a calm demeanor throughout the video despite everything that has happened. He continues to remain humble about his music and career. He speaks for what he believes is right, and he is not going to let anyone’s judgments get in the way of that.

“They can keep trying, but I am just going to keep on writing.”
