Is Mark Wahlberg reviving his rap persona to tour with Jason Aldean and Kid Rock? What’s behind the rumor sweeping the internet?
Mark Wahlberg Was Once A Successful Rapper
Mark Wahlberg is one of the most well-known actors. But long before he was an Oscar nominee, he had a brief rap career. The former Calvin Klein model formed a hip-hop group called Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in 1991.
The group’s debut single, “Good Vibrations,” was an instant success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their follow-up single, “Wildside,” peaked at No. 10 on the charts.
Despite their popularity, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch disbanded in 1993, just two years after their formation.
Mark Wahlberg continued his music career until retiring in 1998 to focus on his budding acting career.
Wahlberg is the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg, a member of the boy band New Kids On The Block.
Is The Actor Forming A New Funky Bunch With Jason Aldean & Kid Rock?
Mark Wahlberg’s performance in the 2007 movie The Departed earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
But is he returning to his hip-hop roots and reviving Marky Mark with a new Funky Bunch?
The online website Dunning-Kruger Times reported in early December that Mark Wahlberg would be touring with Kid Rock and Jason Aldean.
Aldean and Kid Rock are scheduled for a short tour in 2024. Their “Rock The Country” tour features some of the biggest names in music, including Miranda Lambert and Hank Williams Jr.

Is Marky Mark joining the tour?
According to Snopes, the Dunning-Kruger Times is a satirical website that often posts fictitious stories. Mark Wahlberg will not be touring with Jason Aldean and Kid Rock. For that matter, neither is Oliver Anthony.
Snopes speculated that online users believed the headlines about Mark Wahlberg because his political leanings align with those of Kid Rock and Jason Aldean. Both performers have spoken out about their support of former President Donald Trump.
Kid Rock and Jason Aldean also made headlines for their opinions on transgender rights.
Furthermore, Jason Aldean welcomed several surprise guests on stage during his recent “Highway Desperado” tour. From iconic professional wrestler Hulk Hogan to country music legend Toby Keith, audience members never knew who to expect to take the stage!
